Hi,
I'm looking to buy a female kakariki as a companion for our female yellow fronted. I'd prefer a hand reared one, but that isn't an absolute ;0)
We're prepared to travel to collect one.
Anyone know of any out there?
TIA,
Andrea

I have female red fronteds that are between 2 weeks and 2 months of age green and cinnamon, for ten pounds each. Only one problem, you are going to have to travel a long way to fetch them, I am in South Africa!
Hopefully one of our UK members is wide awake enough to help you out or at least tell you where to source Kakarikis in the UK.

Hi Steptoe and Allen,
Thanks for your replies. It is a wee bit too far to travel <gr> - unfortunately!!
Fingers crossed we have found a hand fed girl in Glasgow and are making arrangements to go up and collect her at the weekend. I am so looking forward to getting her home.
Kiwi, our kakariki who is responsible for training us in the way of rikis, is a rescue who came to live with us on Christmas Eve, and we promptly fell under her spell :0) I'm really looking forward to slowly introducing her to her companion :0)
Best wishes,
Andrea

Hi,
The cage is about 7 foot by 3 by 3-ish, but Kiwi is flying free a lot of the time. She just returns to her cage when she wants to, preferring to sit on the settee;0)
I'd decided on another female because if we got a male and they had babies I'd be so worried about letting them go to other homes in case they weren't looked after properly :0(
Best wishes,

Hi,
I found out last night that we haven't got a baby lined up now. When the breeder checked it was a male not a female that he had left and he said he isn't a good enough bird to have us travel all that way for him.
He is due to have some more babies ready in 8 weeks time, I'd hoped to have one much sooner than that but it doesn't look at all likely.
