Now to the topic Mia my yellow crowned girl Has one blue eye I havent noticed this before, I have tried the test for blindness in that eye but was unable to tell, She's had no injury to that eye that I know off and it dos'nt seem to bother her, has anyone heard of this or what it could be?

Hi Carol,

It is hard to diagnose without seing the bird but, we have a hen that is blind in one eye. She was scratched while still a young chick in the nest. Her blind eye is also blue and the vet described this as being something to do with bleeding behind the eye. If you can catch the bird it is a simple procedure to check the eye. Slowly move your finger toward the eye and check for any reaction.

I tried the test but I not sure wether she can see out of that eye or not she dosnt keep her head still and I dont want to hold her head, It dosnt seem to bother her She is still keepin dory on his toes. I know definately no avacado, for others use the search button up near the top.

Another was to test her eye without having to touch her - do you have a pentorch or small hand torch that is bright? Flash it in the eye & see if the pupil changes.

7 babies? Wow I'm impressed! Applause
