Do you have nesting boxes (2)
Avery large or small cage?

The male searches out a good nesting place, finds a female to court, then if the female is a little interested she will inspect the potential nesting place.
IF she finds it suitable, she accepts his advances mating routing takes place and all good.

IF the nest place is unsuitable, or doesnt exist, she moves on .
Being in a small aviary or cage this cannot take place . The male becomes persistent which can eventually cause stress and damage.
Since kakariki a exceptionally prolific breeders the intensity tends to be greater than other species.

To put 'matters right' it is best to separate them from line odf sight at least.. but remain in ear shot for a week or so.
A good sized cage , better still a avary, and 2 nesting boxes.
The 2 nesting boxes gives them a choice and the female able to lay the 2nd batch of eggs as the 1st batch checks get their pin feathers.

If she still doesnt like the match, she will then hide in the 2nd nesting box. If a cage she will eventually become run down due to stress and not being able to get enough food.
