so, one pair has started laying ( 2 eggs so far) Wink , just have to wait & see how the other pair go now, she is never out the box & hes feeding her all the time so just looks like a matter of time i suppose, didn't buy them to breed tbh , like i said have had african greys/conures/quakers/cockatiels in the past , i have only had these bids a short time but i love them, they are nice to look at/quiet & easy to keep, i have read the sticky about feeding so just pretty much the same as the quakers/cons/, they are on

seeds
just a normal cocktiel mix

veg

cauli
sweetcorn
peas
carrots
sprouts
sprouting seeds ( i do my own )
chicken meat

fruit

strawbs
apple
kiwi
pear
melon
grapes

just see how it goes i suppose , seem to be doing ok so far Wink

Being their 1st batch.. leave then to it.. leave the nesting box.
The biggest issue is disturbing the hen.
And make sure have the 2nd nesting box already in the cage .. ready to go.If not when the hen is ready to lay again ( just as the adult feathers appear), she is very likely to consider the current chicks as invaders in her nest...
The male will continue to feed her and finish raising and weaning the current chicks.
Caution with the less shallow nesting boxes the chicks tend to come out early .. not return, and damage themselves as bones etc have not fully hardened up.

Most of our breeding has been in flights.. the cage breeding was more for observation with CCTV camera in the top of the box.
I suggest to add another box..
We , after the novelty warned of, made it a habit of leaving pairs alone...even when had produced 50/ 100+ healthy adults...
damaged/ reject birds reduced dramatically... less than 1% over more than 1000 off spring.
