Hi there, Please can somebody help me. I have planned on buying a baby kakariki from a well known breeder for a while now. I was planning on buying him in 2-3 weeks. My Mother purchased me my cage for my birthday and I am waiting for it to arrive whilst using this time to buy wall brackets, toys, and kakariki proofing my home. All the research I had done previously suggested that the cage I am getting was a great choice but now when I am researching the breed, I am only seeing cage sizes much much bigger.
I am home all day and planned to have my Kakariki trained and out with full stretch of the living room at least once per day. My cage size is 18"(W) X 14"(D) X 40"(H). I have also added a photo of the cage. If the cage is too small, would it be sufficient for a couple of weeks and then i can buy another cage to add on to it to double the space?
Way too small.. kakariki are a very active bird.
On the left is a "quick search" block
Be ok as a breeding cage with a nesting box off the side, and DAILY free flight for several hrs
look up cage size and things like wing clipping ... dont do it ..... diet
and info on how to train/ get your kakariki back into the cage _________________ My Spelling is Not Incorrect...It's 'Creative'
