Do u have females around?
Are u sure 100% it is a male
The males will prepare a nesting box to attract a female, and bob sort of dance at the enterence

Thanks Steptoe,

I have checked the stripes under their wings, and he is definitely male. We do have a female (we think) her stripe was more prominent.

He does also feed her at times. So perhaps they are getting ready to mate. Thanks for your info, much appreciated.

Thanks Mel

Wow, now I'm really confused! Just checked the nesting box and there is 1 egg, only I have not seen who I thought was the female in the box! They are certainly keeping me guessing :)
