I am so worried that Kirby, my kakariki is a hybrid!! I read that if they have red spots behind their eyes and are yellow fronted they are a hybrid, and that is apparently a bad thing?
Please somebody explain how this is a bad thing, because my yellow fronted that I've had for a year has red spots.

There is some difference of opinion on that...
what is of more concern is the mix of red and yellow feather in the crown and ear spot... definitely a hybrid.. and definitely NOT a Reed crown... the crown is basically yellow with some red thrown in.
It appears this is from the yellow crown species and someone has crossed with a red crown mutation to get those genes into the yellow crown blood lines and has produced a reject bird....
Instead of culling, they have dollar signs for eye balls and irresponsibly sell it on. _________________ My Spelling is Not Incorrect...It's 'Creative'
