Hi my female latino who is about 7 months old lost her male she came with from a breeder a few days ago, so i went and got her a new latino male but soon as i put him in the avery she started attacking his back and trying to pluck his feathers and where ever he tried to escape she followed trying to attack. so i took him out and placed him in another avery where now he is fine, could anyone tell me if i should try again or now leave them in seperate averys? i was hoping they would pair up and try to breed when she was old enough. thanks :?:

Try housing the 2 in separate aviaries but in close proximity to each other, perhaps this will allow them to get used to one another for awhile.
You may find it hard to settle her down if she was bonded to her lost mate, this will take time I'm afraid so be prepared.

The std method of introducing new birds into small flights, aviaries... be it hens or most parrot species... is to change EVERYTHING... toys, layout, environment, location... have perches at different levels.. then introduce just before dusk.

u will get a bit of squabbling, as they establish who is to sleep on the top bunk sort of thing... thats normal.
