That's not a very helpful reply. I give my bird all types of things to play with. I find he just chews and discards things that are not edible and it keeps him amused for ages. Perhaps you could expand and explain the reason for not giving certain items. I know dogs are renowned for swallowing things they shouldn't but kakarikis seem to have more sense.

plastic - plastic usualy means a great range of polymeres of different consistence. Mostly they are not biodegradable and depending on the consistence they contain chemicals not unreversly bonded to the polymeres. The great surface on one hand and the chemical characteristics of the molecules promote the agglomeration of other toxic compounds too. A slinking intoxication may accur this way.

The fact that those molecules are not biodegradable cause a accumulation in the gastro entestinal region of your birds and after a while mostly this will lead to the inflammation of the crop or obstruction, because your kaks will bite one small piece of this plastic after the other and eat it.

A birdroom is no place for plastic, and not even more there's a place in toys.

Toys .. a spanner, a pair of pliers, rolled up newspaper, a shoe box , a teaspoon, or jamb the cage full of light branches and leaves and then takes ages for them to chew up enough to move around
Dont give them a lot of toys at once otherwise they getn bored with them all all at once.

Check out other ideas in older posts, a rat/ hamster wheel works great, and no they dont chop their head off or break legs.
