My " kiki" has trapped his beak and it is now sticking out at a strange angle. He can still eat and talk and does not seem in distress. I am hoping it is only swelling and will take him to the vet if it doesn't improve in 24 hours. It is only the top beak and his tongue and lower beak are fine. Any comments would be w3c. Thanks

There was no improvement today and I thought the beak was dislocated. We rang round several vets and eventually found a specialist who wanted an arm and leg just for a consultation with the threat of operations,x-rays etc.etc. To cut a long story short, we rang the local Birds of Prey centre who gave us the number of their vet. The vet was lovely and gave loads of advice together with an anti-inflamatory injection and five minutes after arriving home,"kiki's" beak is back to normal. <v> Applause

Good result...simple infection.
