Hi All, we have a pair of Kaks, we were told that they were from the same clutch. Their behaviour is awesome, no fights etc. Their bond is amazing he feeds her alot, although I haven't seen her feed him. He gets a bit agitated when I am talking to Rikki, probs jealous..signlol. Anyways they are about 8 months old and Rikki, the female has laid her first egg! in her water dish! LOL. We have bought a nesting box and lined it with peat. She is in and out of the box often but have not seen Kaka, the male even enter yet. I have read that Kaks can lay eggs but won't incubate until there are several laid. We give them both Cuttle bone, calcium blocks and a variet of seeds and some fruit. What is the best dietary requiremtns for both parents if they are going to be parents? and also after they become parent, does the male attack and kill any male chicks?
