hi i found my first egg had been laid today by my kakariki, just wondering do the hens lay eggs anyway even if they have mated or not? and i found it in the corner of the nest box so i moved it to the middle cos there is no way she could incubate it where it was, should i exspect eggs every other day? thanks.

The 'books' say every other day or every day...in thev real world where real people actuall breed the species.... they will lay them over 5 to 10 days, lay between approx 6 to 10 eggs....
And incubation doesnt start untill 8 to 10 days... till then the eggs are 'dorment'
If it is her 1st batch, leave her to it....
And dont play with the eggs.

Then she is getting ready or already is incubating the eggs.
