Hi all! My housemate and I recently bought a couple of Kaks and yesterday our first egg out of 6 hatched.
Unfortunately the timing couldn't be much worse as we're moving house in 5 days.
The new house is only a 10 minute car journey away, but I just wanted to know if this is likely to cause a lot of distress to the mother/chicks, and what's the best way to go about transporting them?
Thank you
We and other members have moved pairs with chicks and even sitting on eggs nps
From Avaiary to avairy and as far as traping the pair with the eggs /chicks in the nesting box.....dismantled the avary (6 flights) loaded on a tailoer, transported 100 miles, reassembled a flight , re screwed the nesting box to the wall, let unblocked the nesting box....
And they carry on as if nothing happened.
This is the most extreme we have done.
If u can have the other end ready set up that would be eveb better. _________________ My Spelling is Not Incorrect...It's 'Creative'
