Hi Guys!

We decided to get a bird a while ago and a friend who breeds birds advised us to get a Kakariki. Started Googling straight away and I'm hooked to your forums ever since.

We have Rocky now for about 3 weeks and he's been a joy to have. He's such a funny bird! Pure little character!

The general care is going pretty well I think. There's just one little 'worry' I have for which I decided to join the forum (and to show off our lovely little fella off course!).

We let him fly around a lot when we're at home and our sofa's have these big cushions on them which he loves picking at. Also loves to pick at tea towels and wooly jumpers.

Now I know you should never cover his cage with a cloth of material which he can nibble and take in the thread of the cloth, so I'm kind of worried that he'll take in some of the fluff/threads of jumpers or the tea towels or couch cushions.. Any advise on that? Not so much worried about the cushions, more about the little fella choking on fluff or something!

Thanks for the replies in advance Wink

And thanks again for setting up this website and forum. It's been a great help in learning more about Kikes!
