HI! I am new on this site and i'm glad i came across it as this is one place i hope can answer my questions. I got a kakariki today (female/red crowned) and have to admt that i don't know alot about them. So can you tell me about them ther behaviout etc. I also have a cockateil and they seemes to get along ok. But it is only the first day, so i'm still being careful. Also, i was putting her up on her perch, and she bit me! They're not usually like this are they?

Feeding care have a read of this. http://www.kakariki.net/ftopict-12.html and this http://www.kakariki.net/ftopict-39.html

A little on what not to feed. http://www.kakariki.net/ftopict-611.html

Basically read all the sticky post (that's what I did) and you should find a lot of the information you are looking for. If you still have a few questions then never be afraid to ask as there is a lot of willing people here to assist.

Cheers

Where do I start there is so much to tell. Just follow Ben's advice and go to the links. This sight is awesome and has a lot of great info. When I first caught the Kaki fever I read everything i could find.

Congrats on becoming a new Kaki owner. They are cute, crazy, playful little guys with heaps of character.

Have fun.

Cheers
