As our community has developed over the last few yrs, with visits to each others aviaries, swapping and selling birds in different parts of the world, we have come to a point where we can recommend breeders.
You may ask to be added to the list....Please do not be offended if you are refused. We will only list those who we know through sales that have taken place of good birds, and meet standards of breeding as best we can.
This site takes no responsibility as to sales or condition of birds.

Hi guys just letting you know iam far from the only breeder in Australia. There are quite a few, all who helped set me up with my original stock and most still have better birds than myself. So if your interested in getting some i can probably point you in the right direction depending on where you live in Australia. Feel free to PM for other breeders details that have helped me. Cheers Kev

Turns out I know him, and he and his family have been here several times over the yrs.I can assure you he is a very upstanding member of his communty, and has a job that can mean very odd hrs and be in places at short notice.

I notice there still isnt a recognised British breeder.... Even looking online you find very few kakariki chicks in the UK, especially in the NorthWest. I may have found my future calling..... Wink

We lost our female kakariki yesterday and are looking to get another Kakariki. Are there any breeders around Llandudno area of North Wales or does anyone know about Amazon Exotics based in Valley Holyhead? Have contacted this company as on doing research they seemed better knowledgable then the pet shops in the area

We do not recommend unles they are reared and weaned correctly and dont sell hybrids..which seem to be rear in Europe
But thers is good stock in Europe and SOME breeders are now working on producing good stock we believe.
There are good breeders in Europe Peter in Belguim and Netherlands.
People of very high reputation and respect.
But there is very little...no nil coming forward in the UK.
We do not recomend lightly.

With kakariki, one doesnt need to purchase locally...the Aussie guys ship over 4000 kms, we ship from one end of the NZ to the other...36 hrs
none of us have ever had problems.
In NZ we have a private company that a couple times a month 'circle' the length of the country in a large air con van, stopping at fixed pionts at fixed times...shopping car parks etc, in different towns. Here we drop off birds and animals and pick up...and suprisingly cheap to.
Previous to them we often air freighted but that started to get very expensive.
There are several posts on how to ship, types of containers etc.
