Has anyone else had any problems with their kakarikis using bird baths?!
My kakariki, ,Mao, refusing to use any form of birdbath (We have bought her 4 different ones in total) however she likes to half stand in her water bowl and kick the water all over herself... and the cage... and the floor
Describe the bath.
Is the water fresh .. must be fresh.. and chilled even better.
Some kakariki with just perch on the side and splash water over them selves, other go the whole hog, jump in and swim with their wings over to the other side. So wet they cant fly back to a perch.
I do think how they bathe is also dependent on how safe they feel .. who is around when they 1st start in that environment very young.
And may also depend on just how much oil they have in their feathers...
which depends on their diet....fats off meat, essential oils out of herbs like mint, and natural oils in the diet like native berries or raw orange palm oils[/b] _________________ My Spelling is Not Incorrect...It's 'Creative'
