Hi I have a three month old named Kali, I have had him for a month now and was told to feed him egg food and then slowly introduce parakeet food mixed with parrot and also introduce things like strawberry, dried chilli out of parrot food, broccoli and berries...I just wonder if there is a list of what he should have on a daily, weekly basis to keep him healthy?? He loves a little strawberry but doesnt seem keen on any of the other fresh stuff?? Is there anything I shouldnt give him?? Any help would be great as I adore the guy(well I think he is a guy!).

Hi Steptoe, thankyou so much for the link....guess who is going shopping today!! I think I will have to take his seed out in the morning and put the fresh food in as he hasnt shown much interest so far in what I have given him. He does love dried chilli and strawberry but thanks to what I have learned on this site will reduce how much I give him!! One more question...well for now.. is do I need to buy organic for him? I guess it makes sense that it would be benefitial....kind regards
Organic?
I have no idea what chemicals etc used on crops and withholding periods in Europe.. here in NZ all our veggies and fruit (seasonal) come out of our garden...
I would not get carried away about organic, and if worried give things a good wash.
4 to 6 birds..
1 med beetroot, 1" slice pumpkin, stem off a broccoli and potato/ carrot peelings from dinner pre....handful of frozen peas, another of sweet corn, chop up a stem of celery, sprig parlsy , 2 leaves/stem of silver beet.. seeds out of capsicum (from food prep)
That chopped up peas size plus any thing else left over from your dinner prep...
will last them a week with little wastage
meat and fruit separate.
Its about varied , and consistent..
Dont remove seed thu.. all going right they will moved to veggie fruit and meat with a little seed type diet over the months. _________________ My Spelling is Not Incorrect...It's 'Creative'
