Hi ...

I have a pair on their own in a decent size cage.....with a box in there.

I pulled the pair out of the main colony aviary when I noticed that they had bonded, the cock was feeding her and they were mating.

They've been in a large cage now with a box on their own now and the cock continues to feed her, mate her, etc.....and they enter their large box quite often.

It's been about 4 months now and no eggs... I'm quite baffled.

I feed them seed, vegetables, apples, carrots, corn, bits of red meat, berries, etc....

I'm curious if this is something that can be fixed or is she just a dud hen?

There is only one box....should I put in another one as well?

Any tips will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Their age is about 12 months old each and I bought them when they were about 4 months old each - they were not hand raised and were purchased from separate breeders. So this would be their first time breeding.

Should have 2 boxes , but that can be added after eggs laid ....
Diet is the most common issue, and for kakariki protein calcium and phosphorous in that diet...
Meat bones cartilage stems of Broccoli and cauliflower in a full varied and consistent diet

find and read the sticky thread "what do u feed..."
And make use if the "quick search" block on the left.

yeh i've read that post many times..i pretty much feed them all of that....dunno why, i wonder if the female may need longer to mature, but i'm pretty sure she'd be about a year old by now.

anyway i'll keep persisting. thanks.
