You can feed lots of fruits to your kaks, yes both-grapes and oranges too. BUT grapes often are contaminated with pesticides, so please be careful when you bought those fruits. The surface of oranges often is treated with wachs so please peel the fruits.
Too much shugar is not good for the birds health, do not feet to much.
Also you may feet unripe fruits, as blackbeeries, hawthorn etc, they contain vitamines, secondary compounds, minarals but not that much shugar
Our 2 mainstay fruits are kiwi fruit and apples... both not quite as ripe as humans would eat.... ever notice the birds get into the fruit on trees/ vines, just before they are ready for us to eat...which for us is when one shakes the tree and the fruit drops.
As George alludes to ... we like, are addicted to our high sugar levels in this modern world.
If your fruit meet the NZ regulations onb chemicals, purchased fuit n/ veggies will not be an issue....
Also note many modern chemicals are not on the surface or skins but have been absorbed into the plants "blood stream"
Similar to us using invermectin for worming and mites. _________________ My Spelling is Not Incorrect...It's 'Creative'
Oh thats good, we have appreciated 40 kg fruits hanging on our kiwiplants,
Steptoe do you feet the leaves and branches too? On a swiss site for vetenarian medicine they are signed as poison (oxalate). We have to cut the plants 3 times a year....

Dont believe everything u read, or take at face value
yes many foods have 'poisonous' in them apple and pear seeds (discussed many times here for example) most of these chemicals etc are required for health in minute dose.....and most animals instinctively know not to consume huge amounts... And in most cases these poisons are only in minute quantities as is the case in pear and apple seeds.
On the other hand if the pet doesn't get a consistent varied balanced diet and are then given, say, a handful of apple seeds... then MAYBE it COULD consume enough arsenic to cause a problem.l
Birds feed and climb thru huge groves of kiwifruit... or apple trees, avocado groves.. there are no mass dead birds around or reported.
We feed the kiwi fruit.. and cut into 1/4s length ways, but have no issues feeding grapes on the vine or kiwi fruit on the vine...
OH and there is , from memory a poison in the inner skin or pith of the orange or grape fruit, from memory... never worried about that either. _________________ My Spelling is Not Incorrect...It's 'Creative'
