First the nuts were stolen... took so half day,#
then the berries, took another half day, after two days the house got unstable and we had to build it down.
Now the last rests of the cookies were shreddered to reach the sunflowerseets.
So the kaks had 5 days great fun with it and we - we had some work in the dark days of winter
That is a cool idea...
Excellent treat, would not do it on a regular basis with the pastry and dried friuts. _________________ My Spelling is Not Incorrect...It's 'Creative'
Steptoe - no fear
It's a simple yeast dough without any shugar, just a very little amount of olive oil so that it does not glue and as much as possible grain feed.
All berries are self harvested in our garden, only the clemetines are bio-fruits bought for our kakariki.
Nuts only are feeded very seldom in such case maybe twice a year.
Dont be afraid to be generus with the olive oil....
Some bits of mint...
Our birds go crazy over mint....they can smell it snapped of the plant before one gets to the flight.
Few chopped nuts , yeah.
We often share the nuts we are munching on with the birds. _________________ My Spelling is Not Incorrect...It's 'Creative'
Our birds love all araoatic herbs we collect in our garden. Oh how they lov lavender or roman chamonmille, thyme, rosemary, oregano, basil or mint.
They start anting as soon as we give the aromatic herbs and eat mainly the flowers.
Here our birds love lavender:

Im a bit dyslectic ... so catch onto mispelled word without noticing

I have alway been cautious with lavander...tried it, even have it growing next to a flight....thought of it as another one of those apple seed, chocolate, avocardo myths posiblities maybe.
Havnt chamoline in the garden, never really looked into that...does it have uses in the kitchen.....all the other and of coarse pasley we grow all yeay round.
Most of those u mention are part of our regular chopped veggie mix...
literally "consistant, varied, balanced" diet fresh 2x a day.
And also we use fennel. _________________ My Spelling is Not Incorrect...It's 'Creative'
Oh halp-rive fennelseeds - our kaks make handstands for
And really levenderflowers they love over all, eating the nectar and than anting - for hours. We heard about kakariki ainting with blackberries - could you mind what about they looked after this ?
As we started careing for birds everything was bad and forbidden. NO AROMATIC OILS, ... would halm the birds...
We spend lots of month in austraia and NZ, ... ... ... did you ever walk through a eucalyptusbush in australia- those bushes lots of birds are breeding in?
I think there is more euclyptic-oil in the air as in all the beautysalongs on the rest of the world - and this should halm the birds?
We give our birds what they like and not that what the community of the net tells us. The birds like it, we enjoy it and we have healthy birds. Some elder than 15 years.
When I gave my caged bird a defrosted raspberry,it looked like there had been a massacre afterwards. It reached walls and curtains over a metre away.He is so messy.
Same with strawberries...
the best we have seen was our house king parrot that got into the self saucing chocolate pudding bowl left on the kitchen bench over night...
Sauce and pudding up the walls, floors ceiling with him trying to fly...and the dark brown trail everywhere here walked around
Had a budgie, 40 odd years ago..change colour right before our eyes from a bright yellow to a light blue.
we where painting the kitchen, he came in for a landing, missed or sliped on the side of the 4L paint pot, and landed in it...
I put him under the tap.. lucky was water based... washed most out, to his viloent discust, then stayed wraped in a tea towl on the table for the next few hours.
We have had budgies, (not a fan of them.) suphur crested..(too bloody noisey) kings as house parrots....never cliped wings. _________________ My Spelling is Not Incorrect...It's 'Creative'
