Mixing like that is asking for trouble.
kakariki are very 'intimating' when the start to pair off, and more so when go to nest. Therefore it is VERY RARE one can breeding more than a pair of kakariki in a flight at once.

Best approach is to figure out which pair are getting together, separate in another flight with 2 nesting boxes....and have another flight to hold the offspring.
If kakariki naturally pair off one tends to get stronger birds from our experimenting for many yrs.

Will not work
Think about it this way..
you and your mate meet up with a couple ladies....
you hit it off with one of the ladies, but have to defend off you mate a little to fight for your lady..
Now u get removed from them... you will be very .. lets say angry...
But maybe your lady likes u, your m7 starts to hit on her, she gets a bit upset and the other lady also gets upset.
Doesnt make for a happy situation for anyone right?

But if u and your lady are allowed to get on without any interference .. separate from the rest...all sweet right?
And the other lady and your mate.. may or may hit it odd eventually or may just end up friends...all happy right?

Angry/ stressed birds do not make for good nesting , breeding , long term health or even general viewing.
