Dead Right... hitting the nail on the head. and as more folk dwell in rental property rather than owning their own place this will become more common. We have rentals and have to educate people on those matters you mention. open windows etc to get fresh air in the house.
We always congratulate tenants when they give notice and tell us they are buying there own house.

We dont have rentals.. thu have rented under temp circumstances in the past.
Even landlords are ignorant of basic living/ maintenance practices these days.
We cant wind a window down in a car.. we need a button.. and many ppl dont now now how to use a winder...
We cant open windows to dry a house out, we need to press a button for a heat pump or de humidifier.
And then wonder why our power bills are so high d'oh!
And why we keep getting flus, colds, respiratory problems... un healthy recycled de natured air
