We live up north around Kaitaia and almost every day I see at least one or two Rosellas flying around. Out in the country you can see sometimes up to 6 birds flying. Its amazing how the Aussies do over here, yet the kiwi birds are so governed by bureaucracy. I have a large 8mx4m aviary, How do I go about getting a permit to breed Kakarikis?
It is my understanding that the NZ northern DoC conservatory has taken it upon themselves to make policy that goes beyond the wildlife legislation re keeping of NZ kakariki by private ppl and have not issued any permits for quite a few yrs now.
So unless this policy is contested in a court of law, they have u over a barrel.
But hey this is NZ... we have a failing fish resource, and because the only people who are jumping up and down are recreational fishers and experienced long term fishers, including ppl like Matt Watson...this is anticoidial evidence and is dismissed 100% because it is not from a person with a PhD that has been massed produced out of a NZ institution for ticking the right boxes and no common sense, producing research numbers that keep their salary coming in.
And not enough kiwis dont have the balls like the aussies to get off their backsides and force issues. _________________ My Spelling is Not Incorrect...It's 'Creative'
