Hi Kakariki-lovers! Laughing

My name is Steffie, 16 years old from the Netherlands. Three days ago I met Gerda, a modarator of this forum. She had told me about kakariki.net. I like to learn more about one of the greatest birds I know; the kakariki. So, that’s the reason I’m a member of kakariki.net.

Our whole garden is an aviary. It’s an aviary with tropical birds like japanese nightingales and cardinals. When we are sitting outside, the birds fly around us and that’s really really nice!

I have an own aviary with parakeets:
1-1 Stanley rosella
1-1 Red-rumped parrakeet
2-3 Red- fronted Kakariki’s
In my aviary the kakariki’s are the first birds I have. I like them sooo much, it seems like they’re always cheerful, they make great sounds and they are curious and easy to make house-trained.

In my house I have one yellow crowned kakariki. His name is Sjimmie. Sjimmie is born at 20 may 2011.
Since a couple of weeks he says my name, his own name and he makes kissing sounds hahaha, so cute.

the kakariki’s outside:

Welcome Steffie,

Very glad to see you here!

Although your English is near perfect, this might come in handy now and then;

http://www.vertalen.nu/

and

http://www.vertalen.nu/zinnen/

Best translation sites I came across so far.

And guy's, I met Steffie real life.. and saw her birds and her garden. She knows what she is doing and she does it with a lot of love. I was so lucky to even be able to buy one of her birds. His name is Joepie and it's my most beautiful bird out of the 4 I now take care for. Solidly built, beautiful feathering, well-socialized, well fed and healthy.

Applause
