11 months old, had her since late last September. My other kakariki died recently - he was a rescue. Since his death she is being bullied by my budgies therefore I am having to sell her.

She has been on a good diet of at least 60% fruit a day, she is given at least 3 varieties of fruit and veg a day as well as Buckton's jungle blend parrot mixture which contains, dried banana, papaya, pineapple, nuts, chillies, safflor seeds, walnuts, cashews etc.

Must be able to collect from BL9 0

£35

e-mail me on bgbbfhgh@hotmail.co.uk and I'll send you a pic if interested

somebody bought her from me yesterday to keep as a companion for his male kakariki, Bolo. They were fine for a while, they were playing together and he was taking food from her claw but just after midnight Bolo started to attack Poppy, so their owner separated the 2 of them for the night. He tried putting them together again in the morning but again Bolo was attacking Poppy, so he's bought her back today.
I feel really, really sorry for Poppy. I just want her to find a good home for her. I did consider buying another, but I don't think my budgies would react well to another one as they can be quite mean

Did you keep her in the same cage as the budgies?

yes, I have a large outdoor aviary, they were all together and were absolutely fine for ages. I took Custard in as a rescue in November 2009, Rhubarb in March 2010 and I bought Poppy in September 2010. I had had no problems until now. I think it's because Poppy is a little timid and she just runs away whereas the other 2 used to defend themselves from little squabbles. Luckily, my budgies aren't very aggressive and are not as big bullies as normal budgies as most of them are hand tame, but they do like their squabbles :) but it's a little too much for poor Poppy to cope with and she's not the only one in there with 21 budgies I imagine she feels a little out of place. I know have her inside in a separate cage, but can't keep her inside forever as my mum has an allergy towards their feathers

Moko: yes it was me looking for a hen last year, I managed to find a healthy one last sept, but her mate died in Feb so rather than find her a new mate which would have taken ages i decied to find her a new home as i'm busy with uni at the momet
